The Studio
Mr. Keebs Designs started with a fabric print I couldn't find anywhere, so I made it myself. That one swatch cracked open everything I'd quietly wanted to do throughout my design career — illustrate, build patterns, put my own point of view into a body of work. The name comes from my beagle, Keebler, proof that the best ideas rarely show up as big plans. What started as one print is now a growing line of illustrated goods for people who want their everyday spaces, and their gift-giving, to feel a little more intentional.
The Process
Every pattern starts the same way: outside, with a real plant, not a screen. I sketch from observation, then bring each piece into the studio to draw in full — no stock botanicals, no AI, no shortcuts. It's slower than pulling from a library of premade assets, but it's the only way the work ends up looking like mine instead of like everyone else's.
The Background
Before Mr. Keebs Designs, I spent over 30 years in the design industry, working my way from production up to creative director. That's where the eye for pattern, color, and composition comes from — decades of solving other people's design problems before I started solving my own. This studio is where that experience finally gets to be fully mine.
